Beyond my expectations this book was a wonderful historical review of these two sisters every page was filled with great patterns from the beginning to the end when they created their empire highly recommend this book great tabletop conversation piece but also good reference for whatever type of sewing or home d cor you may encounter or just lovely to have as a history of two sisters off on a venture that was highly successful

I will be brief because i want to be effective. This is the most incredible book in my whole collection.I find that no words will do justice to what you will get if you purchase this absolute jewel. From the hardcover lined in SILK, to the countless designs, to the quality of photos and paper,to the original SQUARE shape of the book, EVERYTHING is UNIQUE, even the price you pay for this amazing publication.I feel sorry for the ones who may miss out on this one so here is my humble contribution.Thank you for the recommendation

The photographs of their textiles are beautiful and I have enjoyed reading about their business and how they started This book would be an excellent choice for anyone interested in textile design It is expensive at 50.00, but with the quantity and quality of color photographs and over 300 pages the price is not unreasonable The only flaw was that the top layer of the plastic dust jacket had started peeling back along the bottom edge of the book before I unwrapped it It s not a big enough problem to send it back for another copy though The book of postcards is also very good.
